Odyssey systems are ideal for buildings where rooftop unit installation isn’t possible due to architectural design, safety or structural limitations. Split systems are comprised of an indoor fan, cooling and heating unit, connected to an outdoor compressor and condenser. Trane’s broad line of split system components provide mix-and-match, customizable design flexibility.

At the unit level, Odyssey’s components are smaller and weigh less than most single-unit products. Indoor components are designed for use in confined spaces, so they fit easily through standard doorways and freight elevators.

With conventional non self-contained split gas-electric systems, the fan system which moves air through ducts, the cooling coil module and furnace module are located indoors. Trane furnace sections and coils are available which discharge air horizontally or vertically. Also, the Trane furnace section may be installed without other split system components to provide heating only operation.
