Energy savings performance contracting (ESPC) is a funding and procurement method where facility upgrades are paid for from the future operational and energy savings those upgrades deliver—managed and guaranteed by a qualified energy service company (ESCO).
The ESCO audits your facilities, identifies savings opportunities, designs, and implements upgrades, and guarantees the energy savings. Project costs are repaid over time from these validated savings.
ESPC is the contract or process through which upgrades are funded and delivered. An ESCO—like Trane—is the provider who manages, implements, and guarantees results via the ESPC.
After evaluating your current infrastructure and operating expenses, we’ll work with you to create a tailored design and funding plan that meets your unique requirements. The entire scope of your construction project can be funded in two ways: first, by generating budget surpluses through reduced energy and operational costs; and second, by leveraging grants, incentives, and programs that reward infrastructure upgrades, efficiency improvements, and sustainability.
Unlike traditional bid and spec projects, which require you to coordinate with multiple contractors, engineers, and find your own financing, Trane streamlines the entire process with Energy Savings Performance Contracting. Plus, your project is typically funded by the savings it generates, minimizing upfront costs.
